The Mitchell physics building I believe is an example of a new trend of different leveled roof heights. Lately I've been noticing a new trend of roof tops that aren't just plain lines in the sky. I believe the reasoning behind this is to try and add a spice to the sky lines of towns and not just plain flat layers. If you look at the physics building you can see that it has several different heights with slanted and curved surfaces. I think that most new building are going to have something like this in the architecture.
